Freedom Saddle Fitting Kit

Freedom Saddle Fitting Kit - includeswhite cast pad, gray felt pad, roll of plastic wrap, chalk, razor knife, card board stand (3 pieces) and flexible curve.

You will also need a table, bucket of water, flat survace to stand horse, and the horse with two people.

Stand Horse Square or just a little inside of square on flat surface with even weight on all feet, keeping horses head and neck relaxed.

Front Flexible Curve - Place flexible curve on front of the horses back and press to conform to the conformation.

Trace to Cardboard - Place the conformed flexible curve for the front on cardboard marked for front and trace with chalk. Match center of flexible curve with slot in cardboard.

Back Flexible Curve - Place flexible curve on back and press to conform to conformation.

Trace to Cardboard - Place the conformed flexible curve for the back on the cardboard marked for the back then trace with chalk. Match enter of flexible curve with slot in cardboard.

Cut Our Cardboard - Once you have traced the curve for the front and back cut out the cardboard along the traced lines.

Assemble Stand - Cut the two pieces with the razor knife and assemble stand.

Gray Felt Pad - Place the gray felt pad on the back veing sure to center it and placing the front edge just over the top of the shoulder.

Plastic Wrap - Wrap the gray pad with plastic wrap. If front of pad is covered use the razor knfe to make a cut about half way down the pad and cut back about 6-8 inches to allow the pad to adhere to back. This will give an accurate cast.

Bucket of Water - Dip white casting pad in the bucket of water. Make sure pad is saturated then squeegee off top and bottom.

Place White Pad - Place white casting pad on sealed down gray pad. Check the pad to make sure it is centered and contacting the shape of the gray pad by lightly pressing to shape. Make sure horse is square and relaxed.

Drying - Allow casting pad to dry enough that it will maintain its shape when moved to cardboard stand. After pad is on stand let the pad cure approximately 24 hours. The warmer and dryer the surroundings are, the better.

Ship Cast to Freedom Saddle - Box the cast on the stand with the other casting supplies and secure them with crumpled newspaper top and bottom. Please do NOT use packing peanuts or popcorn.
