Wed Friday in Crescent Avenue Church

The wedding of Miss Mary Wharton Darsie, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John Adamson Darsie of Plainfield, to Lieut. John Heald Alexander
Jr., A- V. S., son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander of 266 East Dudley
Avenue, took place Friday evening in the chapel of the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church, Plainfield. The ceremony was performed by the Rev, Ralph H. Haas and the Rev. John 0. Thomson, a cousin'of
the bride. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a
gown of silk satin designed with a ritted bodice, high neckline with a
yoke of Belgian lace, long sleeves and a full hooped skirt forming a
train. Her fingertip veil of illusion was held by a cap of Belgian lace,
and she carried a bouquet of cream shaded cymbidium orchids,
sUphanotis and lilies of the valley.

Mrs. Gerald R. Putnam of Moorestown, sister of the bride,
was matron of honor and the bridesmaids were the Misses Anne
and Judith Alexander of Westfield, sisters of the bridegroom. Kimberley
H. and Anne Darsie Putnam, nieces of the bride, were flower
girls.

All attendants were gowned alike in dusty pink faille. They
carried bouquets of wine shaded chrysanthemums and rubrum lilies
and wore matching floral headdresses. The flower girls wore
frocks of white organdy over pink taffeta and carried old fashions
bouquets of pastel flowers.

Mr. Alexander served as best man for his son. The ushers included
Thomas C. Darsie of Plainfleld, brother of the bride; Alan W.
Peters of Englewood, Robert G. Beard of Westfield, and Ensign
Stewart W. Tisdale of Wilmington, Del.

The bride, who ia a member of the Plainfleld Junior League, attended
the Hartridge School, Plainfleld, was graduated from the
Masters School, and attended Bennett Junior College., Lieutenant Alexander is an alumnus of Phillips Exeter Academy and Yale University, where he was a member oi Delta Kappa Upsilon
fraternity.

Princeton Student to Wed Eastener in New Jersey

Dr. Hugh Thomson Kerr to Officiate at Early April Ceremony

Dr. Hugh Thomson Kerr, former pastor of the Shadyside Presbyterian Church, will officiate at the marriage of Miss Nancy Atkinson Darsie and Gerald Robinson Putname, which will take place in Plainfield, N.J., April 2. Rev. Dr. John J. Moment of Plainfied will assist Dr. Kerr.

The bride-to-be, who is the grandaughter of the late Mrs. and Mrs. T. Chalmers Darsie of Pittsburgh, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Adamson Darsie of Rahway Rd., Plainfield.

Miss Darside attended the Hartridge School and the Master's School at Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. She is a member of the Plainfield Junior League. Mr. Putnam, son of Mrs. Joseph Neff Van Deventer and the late Olin Still Putnam, is an alumnus of the Loomis School, Windsor, Conn., and attended Princeton University until his enlistment in the Army Air Corps. After serving twenty-two months in the ETO, he has resumed his studies at Princeton where he is a member of the Quadrangle Club.
