The SiMT 3D/Virtual Reality Studio Services

The 3D/Virtual Reality Studio at the SiMT is equipped to produce a wide variety of interactive virtual experiences designed to enhance your concept presentations, sales demonstrations and training experiences.

When you need to demonstrate or train users of complex products or processes, nothing captures the imagination of the viewer - and ensures retention of information - than Interactive 3D modeling. Using computer generated 3D models, you can experience the feel of actually holding the product in your hands or walking through a virtual environment.

Imagine being able to disassemble and reassemble a complex machine or knowing how a factory will work in a way that leaves you feeling as though you really did touch the real thing.

We can produce interactive 3D models of your products or environments usable for marketing demonstrations, trade shows or training.

Virtual Training offers more impactful and quicker learning experiences than traditional classroom or onsite teaching. 3D simulations are produced from photography and scans of the work environment and used to train employees on how to build new products more efficiently and/or safely.

Virtual simulations can also teach sales people or even new customers how to use new products. New plant figurations to adopt new equipment can also be planned through virtual testing.

Virtual prototypes cost less to produce, design changes are easier to make and testing can be simulated in an interactive environment. Virtual concepts are developed at the start of a product development cycle and are continuously refined and streamlined from concept to launch eliminating "redos" and additional design work by converting final VR concepts to CAD files.

Interactive Product Content Management (IPCM) addresses the issue and assists a broad range of companies over many industry sectors to gain maximum benefit from existing documents, especially 2D and 3D graphic assets. The flexibility and development systems provided with IPCM enables safe implementation without the concern of changing needs and new format output requirements.

IPCM enables novice users to access corporate information typically restricted to experts within the engineering and design departments which can now be used in marketing presentations, technical presentations and on-line catalogs. In a nutshell, companies now with IPCM are able to re-use existing 3D documents to create smart digitized product content that brings 2D and 3D CAD data to life. This enables them to interact visually, configure, demonstrate, plan and train and support products.

Augmented reality (AR) is a live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented (or supplemented) by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data. By contrast, virtual reality replaces the real world with a simulated one.

A frequently used example of Augmented Reality is the projection of a virtual 3 dimensional building shown on the building lot or the virtual operation of a production line before it is constructed.
